The right size should frame the body with enough ease for movement while keeping the silhouette sharp and composed.

FIT

Measure First

Start with the points that shape the garment.

Use a soft measuring tape and keep it level against the body. For best results, measure over a lightweight T-shirt or shirt, then compare with the chart below. If you are between two sizes, choose based on your preferred fit.

01

Chest

Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the tape level and relaxed under the arms.

02

Shoulder

Measure from shoulder point to shoulder point across the back to understand jacket and shirt structure.

03

Waist

Measure around the natural waist or where you prefer trousers and shorts to sit.

04

Inseam

Measure from the top of the inner leg to the ankle point for trouser length reference.

Choosing Between Sizes

Let the garment purpose decide the final size.

A shirt worn under a jacket may feel best closer to the body. A knit or outer layer may benefit from added ease. When measurements fall between two sizes, consider how the piece will be worn most often.

For Shirts Prioritize chest and shoulder. The collar and sleeve should feel clean without pulling across the upper body.
For Trousers Prioritize waist, seat, and thigh comfort. A refined trouser should move naturally when seated or walking.
For Jackets Prioritize shoulder line and layering needs. Size up if you plan to wear heavier knitwear underneath.

Size Questions

Small adjustments make a cleaner fit.

What if I am between sizes?

Choose the smaller size for a closer silhouette or the larger size for easier movement and layering. For jackets and knitwear, many customers prefer the added ease of the larger size.

Are the charts garment measurements?

The charts are general body measurement references in inches. Individual garments may vary slightly depending on fabric, cut, and intended fit.

How should a Branton jacket fit?

The shoulder should sit cleanly, the chest should close without strain, and the sleeve should allow natural movement. Consider sizing up if you prefer heavier layers underneath.
